How to make bread









Tired of store bought breads? You can make your own bread at home where you you will be sure to take control over what goes into it. Below is a basic recipe for bread making.
What you need :

907g all purpose flour
1 level teaspoon salt
6 level teaspoon yeast
Butter
Water

Method:
Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl, make a well in the middle , add butter and water then mix,

                                                         


 if you have a kneading machine, knead till the dough becomes completely smooth,





 cover the bowl with a kitchen towel, leave for 4 hours to prove, pre-heat oven to gas mark 7, mold dough into preferred shape, Rub oil over bread tin or tray, place  dough on it and bake for not more than 30 minutes.
To knead manually,  lightly dust flour on a work surface, transfer the dough onto it and knead till you get a smooth dough. Smear oil around a large bowl, roll your dough into a ball and place into the oiled bowl, cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and leave to prove for an hour or more if you choose, the dough should have doubled in size by now, knock it down, gently mould it into a ball, leave it for another hour to double in size. Pre-heat oven, Rub oil over a work surface, place dough on it and mould into any desired shape , Rub oil on the surface of a baking tray or your bread pan, place the dough in it and let bake till it's golden which shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.  Place  on a rack to cool.
